Просмотров 174 тыс.4 года назад
At her prime, showing the power of the East German steroid system. Coming into this meet she was the current 200 & 400 WR holder, and during this meet in October 1985 she lowered her 400 WR to the still-standing (and unbeatable?) 47.60. She also ran on the 4x400 which won in 3:19.49, 4 seconds slower than their national record 3:15.92 set the year before in Erfurt. After the race Koch is interv...

Two things..... The second leg, Sheila Echols slows down a tad bit near the handoff to Flo. And the second thing..... Flo pats Evelyn Ashford on the ass after the handoff, which kinda jams her baton hand , forcing her to adjust and squeeze the baton. To this day I still think in some way that little pat shot a little extra life into that last leg somehow.

Wow the commentary is atrociously racist... Could not acknowledge the massive accomplishment of the Soviet Union winning, nor them breaking a world record... These athletes do not represent their country's politics, they are all just amazing athletes working hard to achieve greatness. Proper commentary should be able to recognise that, instead of further dividing.

Steroid give speed endurance and she ran the first 3 100m splits in the low 11s. She ran the 100 two years before in 11.02. That is close to max effort for a 400. She starts stutter stepping at the end cuz she sprinting the first 350 but instead of being tired after she finished, she was able to easily keep jogging for a victory lap. There is documentation of Koch taking drugs in the 80s. Some athletes were giving drugs and told they were just supplements or vitamins

The sad thing is it contains the worst female drug cheat in athletic history, griffith joyner was a despicable cheat...why couldnt it be someone else other than her in the relay team ?.. her just being involved sours it for the clean athletes....and for all of the idiots who STILL believe she was clean...WHERE is she ?... oh, shes dead...died from a massive heart attack brought on by having a massively enlarged heart due to huge injections of all kinds of steroids....a vile cheat.
